Ballinger Cares - Food Pantry and Resale Shop

 

Welcome to Ballinger Cares, a non-profit organization that operates a food pantry, donation and resale center located in Ballinger, Texas. Our organization is dedicated to helping individuals and families in our community who are experiencing food insecurity and a lack of adequate clothing.

At Ballinger Cares, we believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious food and warm clothing, regardless of their financial situation. That's why we rely on the generous donations of people like you to help us provide for those in need.

There are many ways you can support our organization. You can make a monetary donation online, or you can drop off gently used clothing at our donation center. Every dollar and every piece of clothing helps us continue to serve our community.

If you're interested in volunteering your time, we would love to have you! We have a variety of opportunities available, from helping to sort donations to assisting with food distribution.

At Ballinger Cares, we are committed to fostering a strong, supportive community by providing essential resources and office space for impactful organizations in Runnels County. By housing key agencies and groups, we work to create a collaborative environment where assistance, support, and wellness are accessible to all.

Our Partner Organizations

Through our facility, we proudly support:

  • Cornerstone Community Action Agency – dedicated to empowering individuals and families, addressing economic challenges, and providing pathways to self-sufficiency.
  • The Ballinger Ministerial Alliance – bringing together faith-based support and outreach programs to address local needs with compassion and care.
  • Armory AA Group – offering a safe, supportive space for individuals on their recovery journey.
  • Meals on Wheels Plus – is a charitable organization which has been providing home-delivered meals since 1975.

Community Contributions
Ballinger Cares also actively contributes to and distributes resources for Squeaky Missions of Runnels County, ensuring that essentials reach those who need them most. Our commitment to these missions strengthens our community and enhances the well-being of all our residents.

2025 Thanksgiving Meal


The Ballinger Rotary Club partnered with Ballinger Cares and the Runnels County Scouts to help purchase, assemble, and distribute boxes of food within our community. This year, a little over 180 families signed up to receive these boxes. What a blessing it is to partner with our local Ballinger Cares organization to provide this support to families in need.

If you are looking for a place to donate food or clothing, please consider Ballinger Cares. They are doing an outstanding job serving our community. Go check it out—everything is so well organized, and we truly live in such a giving community thanks to these dedicated volunteers. This is one of the projects the Ballinger Rotary Club looks forward to helping with every year.

We also love having our local youth assist in serving others. If you have children interested in volunteering, please look into the Runnels County Scout program or the Rotary Interact program. These young people are doing many great things while learning valuable life skills. They are currently preparing for a bake sale to support their project at our local nursing homes for Christmas at the end of the month, so be on the lookout for that!
